PRIVACY NOTICE REGARDING THE PROTECTION OF DONOR AND VOLUNTEER PERSONAL DATA

 

PRIVACY NOTICE

 

We, Gökyüzü Foundation, located at Alacaatlı Mahallesi 3377. Sokak Bahçeci Konakları No:6 Çayyolu Çankaya – Ankara TURKEY, have prepared this Privacy Notice to explain to you the purposes for which we will process your personal data within our Foundation and commercial enterprise. As the data controller, we hereby inform you that we collect and process your personal data in accordance with the law, without prejudicing your fundamental rights and freedoms, in the manner specified in this notice.

 

WHAT PERSONAL DATA DO WE PROCESS?

Gökyüzü Foundation is a public benefit foundation that, in addition to providing housing, education, and health support to children and youth and supporting their personal development through cultural and artistic activities, operates as a foundation and commercial enterprise to minimize the negative social effects that children at risk may encounter, conducting preventive, protective, and rehabilitative work for this purpose.

 

In line with the Foundation’s purpose; identity data such as name, surname, age, Turkish ID number, signature, education, occupation, and experience; contact information such as address, phone number, and e-mail; financial information; and visual data are collected and processed in order to carry out activities, provide resources for projects, develop charitable activities, and collect donations.

 

FOR WHAT PURPOSES DO WE PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

 

Your personal data is processed by the Foundation for the following purposes:

 

  • Conducting, supervising, organizing, and ensuring the continuity of public benefit activities within the scope of the Foundation’s purposes and charter
  • Collecting, checking, and organizing donations; organizing and conducting events and campaigns
  • Developing, supporting, and ensuring the sustainability of charitable activities
  • Recording donations and fulfilling related financial obligations
  • Fulfilling legal, juridical, and financial obligations in accordance with relevant legislation
  • Establishing and performing donation agreements; fulfilling donors’ wills
  • Ensuring the continuity of Foundation aid
  • Conducting volunteering activities and ensuring the organization and sustainability of volunteer activities
  • Informing donors and volunteers about donations and aid activities; ensuring satisfaction and maintaining communication
  • Conducting necessary legal and other procedures for accepting material/in-kind donations
  • Sending receipts and thank-you letters; preparing certificates and sending gifts
  • Organizing events and managing these processes
  • Receiving, evaluating, and accepting volunteer applications
  • Keeping donors informed about Foundation announcements after donation processes
  • Concluding requests
  • Ensuring the safety of the Foundation, its facilities, events, and donors
  • Conducting internal and external audits of our Foundation
  • Making contribution announcements

 

SHARING YOUR PERSONAL DATA WITH THIRD PARTIES

  • In the event of a legally and procedurally appropriate request, your data may be transferred to courts and public institutions within the scope of our legal obligations.
  • For the establishment of rights and fulfillment of legal obligations, and in case of a dispute, your personal data may be shared with our lawyers.
  • In the event of a one-time or regular donation via virtual payment, donor information received by the infrastructure service providers we use is shared with our Foundation.
  • Shared with organizers and tour companies for the purpose of organizing trips held for donation collection purposes.
  • Your contact information is transferred to postal/cargo companies for sending donation-related documents; and to e-announcement/SMS service providers for donor communication.
  • For ensuring donor participation for events and announcements and/or planning communication, data is transferred to third parties managing the organization and service and infrastructure providers.

 

HOW AND FOR WHAT REASONS DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL DATA?

  • We collect your personal data through forms on our website and/or physical forms, verbal or written communication, or by having your information transmitted to us through different donation platforms or campaigns.
  • We process your personal data because it is necessary to fulfill our obligations under relevant legislation and our Foundation charter, to protect the rights of those benefiting from our services, and for the establishment and performance of the donor/volunteer relationship.
  • We collect it due to our legal obligations regarding the protection of children and employee health and safety, and our legitimate interest in ensuring the security of the Foundation, its facilities, events, and donors.
  • We collect from third parties such as your organization making the donation, the donation infrastructure provider, or the payment system provider mediating your payment, because it is necessary to fulfill legal obligations such as issuing donation receipts.
  • We process it based on the legal reason that it is necessary to inform you that your donations, volunteer activities, and support have reached their destination, and to ensure the sustainability and management of the Foundation’s resources.
  • In the event that you express your wish to participate in Foundation activities, provide support, make a donation, or volunteer, we process it based on your request in order to inform you, thank you, and generally ensure the continuation of charitable activities.

 

YOUR RIGHTS

You may submit your requests within the scope of Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law, which ‘regulates the rights of relevant persons,’ to our Foundation in accordance with the ‘Communiqué on Procedures and Principles for Application to the Data Controller.’

 

Our Foundation may request additional verifications (such as sending a message to your registered phone or making a call) in order to determine whether the application belongs to you and thus protect your rights, depending on the nature of your request and your application method.
