As Gökyüzü Foundation, we believe that donating is a voluntary behavior and that giving and sharing improves our quality of life. Because we value civil society organizations and their projects earning the trust and respect of the public, and donors and potential donors donating safely and wisely, we stand behind and support donor rights.
We acknowledge that all donors have the following rights.
Donor Rights
- To be informed about the civil society organization’s mission and vision, how the donation will be used, and the capacity and intention to use it efficiently in line with donation purposes,
- To learn about the Board of Directors and managers, and to expect managers to fulfill their duties prudently and wisely,
- Access to current financial information,
- To request a guarantee that the donation will be used for its intended purpose,
- To be appropriately thanked,
- To request confidentiality of their donations in accordance with the law,
- To request that all relationships established by all employees representing the organization with them be at a professional level,
- To know whether the person requesting the donation is a volunteer, employee, or someone hired externally just for this purpose,
- If it is to be shared with others, to request removal of their contact information from lists,
- The right to ask questions when donating and to receive immediate, accurate, and clear answers.
